Cool Efforts in the Community.
We aren't the only ones doing this work and we love that! Check out the following groups, accounts, and initiatives:
- Westlake Student Activism is a group of current WHS students creating a space for social advocacy at WHS.
- Eanes for Equity (E4E) is a newly formed parent working group for EISD parents/guardians that is currently focusing on racial equity issues. You can reach them at [email protected] if you would like to get involved.
- @racismatwestlake is an anonymous Instagram account documenting stories of everyday racism committed in the district to bring about change.
- Funmi Ogunro, a local Austin filmmaker, is creating a documentary on Austin’s Black Freedom Communities. Check out her project here and consider donating to her work!
